| Guys I have been filling my Z's up with 93 octane from the only place in town that has it for several years. I have been having talks with a few people now that say it is probably not really 93 octane. I have a hard time believing that there would be this big scam going and the owners of the station are deliberately lying and re-labeling inferior gasoline as 93 octane. I was under the impression that this would first of all be illegal if they did this, and second of all, that gasoline is inspected regularly to ensure that people are selling and charging people for what they say they are. I guess my question is this: How accurate are the octane ratings on pumps? Can stations get away with mis-labeling gasoline ratings for years on end? This is a prominent truck stop on the interstate. In Texas, if that matters. I dont have a problem taking octane ratings at face value unless I am out in BFE and they got a 99 octane rating or something. But apparently people think there is this big conspiracy out there charging 93 prices for mid grade gasoline... Sorry for rambling I am kinda hungover today, I wish I could have made this a little more coherent.
